Looking Back On 2015 With The BMBA

Looking Back On 2015 With The BMBA

with No Comments

With Thanksgiving, Christmas, and well … 2015 over and while the world is focusing on loosing excess weight and eating better it’s time for us Brevard MTBers to join in the new year’s fun. So let’s sit back, grab a beer, and start planning the 2016 BMBA goals!

Before we can officially move forward we feel like we should step back and reflect on what a great year 2015 was! We saved the GFT (yet again), exponentially grew MTB enthusiasm within Brevard, created new features and new lines at our beloved trail, maintained (even during the big wet summer) one of the top 15 trails in the state of Florida (The BEST Mountain Bike Trails in Florida), set in motion some of the largest changes in GFT history (Grapefruit Trails park expansion proposed in Palm Bay), started relationships to grow BMBA trail management beyond the GFT to other Brevard trails, built and funded a road crossing at the Malabar/Palm Bay Trail Network, launched a new website (www.RideBMBA.org), and managed to have a few rides (and a few beers) in between!

2016 Will Be ANOTHER Big Year for BMBA

BMBA has some amazingly spirited, enthusiastic, and ambitions planners. As we finalize our 2016 plans and goals you can be rest assured that 2016 will be a big year for all of us! If you happen to have visited the Grapefruit Trail this year, you’ll see we’ve already started heavily working on a new east side trail (the Rock N’Roll trail), have installed a new rock face climb on the IMBA drop trail section, modified the doubles on the east side before the zebra drop, reshaped the zebra drop, added an intermediate option through the 6-pack, and re-worked the pro-line. Need I say that February isn’t even over?!?!?

We Need YOU

So why am I telling you all this? Well, now is the best time to renew your yearly BMBA membership and you can do so today online at www.RideBMBA.org/florida-bike-club , at the trail by submitting written membership form and your dues at the trail head kiosk, or in person to any of our officers or board of directors members (listed here: www.RideBMBA.org/florida-mountain-bike-club). Sign up in November/December 2015!??!? Well, no worries, you are covered for all of 2016 as well!

As a grassroots non-profit organization you should know that we wouldn’t function at all without our members – as we have no other means of funds generation and it takes money to maintain and run our club and trails! Your membership is also tax deductible.
